Beyoncé schrijft geschiedenis bij de Grammys, Kendrick Lamar wint drie awards

Afgelopen nacht werden de Grammy's voor de 65ste keer uitgereikt en het werd een memorabele avond. Beyoncé nam vier awards mee naar huis en heeft er nu 32 gewonnen in haar carrière. Ze ging daarmee de Hongaarse dirigent Georg Solti die tot gisteravond de meeste Grammy's had.

Queen B won Best Dance/Electronic Album voor Renaissance, Best R&B Song voor Cuff It, Best Dance/Electronic Recording voor Break My Soul en Best Traditional R&B Performance voor Plastic On The Sofa. De belangrijkste categorieën moest ze echter aan andere artiesten overlaten. Zo won Harry Styles Album of the Year, Lizzo won Record of the Year en Bonnie Raitt nam Song of the Year mee naar huis.

Best Rap album ging naar Kendrick Lamar voor Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Daarnaast won de rapper ook Best Rap Performance voor The Heart Part 5 en voor hetzelfde nummer de award voor Best Rap Song. Best musica urbana album ging naar Bad Bunny voor zijn succesvolle album Un Verano Sin Ti en Best R&B performance ging naar Muni Long voor Hrs & Hrs. Steve Lacy nam de award voor Best progressive R&B album mee naar huis en Best R&B Album ging naar Robert Glasper voor Black Radio III. Dave Chappelle won de Grammy voor Best Comedy Album.
