Terwijl de beschuldigingen ons om de oren vliegen in de beef tussen Kendrick Lamar en Drake, gaan de cijfers van beide heren ook door het dak.
Vooral Kendrick Lamar lijkt te profiteren van de beef als we naar de streams kijken. Op 6 mei stond hij op plek 1, 2, 5 en 8 met de tracks Not Like Us, euphoria, Like That en Meet The Grahams in de Amerikaanse Spotify charts. Hij behaalde 6,6 miljoen streams in de Verenigde Staten en dat is het hoogste aantal streams ooit behaald door een rap nummer. Hij stoot daarmee Drake en Lil Baby van de troon, die met Girls Want Girls bovenaan stonden. Gisteren is daar nog een schepje bovenop gekomen en waren het 6,812 miljoen Amerikaanse streams.
Kendrick behaalde op de derde dag van Not Like Us maar liefst 11,85 miljoen wereldwijde streams en kwam daarmee op plek 2 terecht van meeste streams op 1 dag voor een raptrack. Ook maakt de rapper ook kans op zijn eerste solo nummer 1 hit in de Billboard Hot 100. Het zou dan de eerste raptrack ooit zijn, die met een verkorte week de nummer 1 positie weet te bemachtigen.

De beef heeft ook effect op hele andere nummers. Zo hebben Poetic Justice en Mother I Sober geprofiteerd. Eerstgenoemde staat voor het eerst sinds 11 jaar in de US Apple Music top 50 en Mother I Sober is zeven keer zoveel gestreamd als vorige week.
