Taylor Swift reageert op Kanye West tijdens haar Grammy toespraak

Het lijkt er op dat Taylor Swift Kanye West's track Famous heeft gehoord waarin hij rapt: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous". Gisteren won zij het Album van het Jaar bij de Grammy Awards en nam van de gelegenheid gebruik om Kanye subtiel op zijn plek te zetten.
De tweets van Kanye zijn volgens Taylor niet waar. Ze laat namelijk hieronder duidelijk weten dat zij haar succes niet heeft te danken aan Kanye en dat hij geen credits hoeft te nemen voor haar bekendheid. Ze zegt dat ze zich richt op vrouwen, maar de boodschap naar Kanye is duidelijk. Zo zegt ze dat er altijd mensen zullen zijn die claimen dat zij verantwoordelijk zijn voor je succes, maar dat je je niet moet laten afleiden daardoor.
“As the first woman to win album of the year twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or you fame, But if you just focus on the work, and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
